  What We Think

If finding tech solutions for clients is your jam and you want to specialize, this is one of the best courses in the market.

Looking for an honest Tech VA in a Day review from someone who’s actually put the course to the ringer?

If so, you’ve landed in the right place.

Tech VA in a Day claims to take you from zero skills to a specialized technology virtual assistant — complete with in-demand skills that businesses are lining up to pay for.

But is it actually any good? And can it really help you land stable work that pays well?

Our research team spent hours dissecting Esther Inman’s Tech VA in a Day course to see if it’s the real deal.

Nobody likes pouring cash down the drain on an underwhelming course (been there, done that). So in this TVAD review, we’ll give it to you straight so you can decide for yourself if it’s right for you.

Let’s dive in.

👀 This is a Level 2 review. Read more about our in-depth course review process.

Tech VA in a Day review: What you need to know

Tech VA in a Day is designed to transform you into a highly-skilled techie VA machine. The course is a complete training program for building funnels and running client websites using templates that require zero coding and design knowledge.

This allows you to manage the backbone of many online businesses, a skill in huge demand in today’s automated world.

That said, there’s no such thing as a perfect course, and TVAD is not right for everyone.

Before making any rash decisions, there are some things you should know.

Let’s start by investigating who created the course.

Who the heck are Esther, Nuno, and Andy?

Esther Inman is the CEO and co-founder of Virtual Assistant Internship (VAI) and a proud mother of two boys.

She’s worked as a virtual assistant for the last eight years. After reaching six figures with her agency, she launched her landmark course, 90 Day VA, that’s helped thousands of virtual assistants around the world earn a living online.

Esther has also built and launched over 60 online courses for clients and matched hundreds of VAs with businesses.

To help teach TVAD, she recruited two genius “tech guys” — Nuno and Andy.

Nuno Tavares ditched his 25-year corporate career when he transformed his passion project side hustle into two six-figure marketing agencies.

He serves as a Lead Tech Officer at Funnel Gorgeous, which has helped launch hundreds of sites and marketing campaigns for businesses across the world.

Andy Klepner is a self-proclaimed geek who has built over 400 websites and created thousands of online systems. He has over 20 years of experience.

Along with Nuno, he’s a Lead Tech Officer at Funnel Gorgeous.

What’s included in Esther Inman’s Tech VA in a Day course?

The course material is broken down into 3 parts:

  1. Tech VA in a Day
  2. VA Starter Pack
  3. VAI Members Club

#1.) Tech VA in a Day

Tech VA in a Day is the main course composed of video lessons and action checklists.

The video lessons typically include either Esther, Nuno, or Andy sharing their screen and breaking down techie VA skills into digestible bite-sized pieces.

screenshot of tech VA in a day lesson
Here’s an example of what one of the lessons look like.

In the material section, you’ll get a nifty checklist that follows the videos and lays out each action step in order.

Here’s a summary of the eight modules:

  • WTF is a funnel? Esther demystifies the term and shares funnel examples from her own business model so you’ll know what the cuss you’re talking about with clients.
  • Prepping your first funnel. The team covers all the stuff that needs sorting out before creating a funnel like backend lead generation, setting up your landing page, and connecting your biz to FG.
  • Launching your first funnel. Learn to set up pipelines, booking systems, surveys, and more by following on-screen demonstrations that make building your first funnel a breeze.
  • Automating your new lead-generating funnel. All things automation so you don’t miss important client emails, forget meetings, or waste time doing manual work.
  • Email like ya mean it. Become an email marketing guru by crafting pro signatures, automating your email scheduling, and leveraging time-saving templates.
  • Building funnels for course creators. Deep-dive into building order forms, sales pages, one-time offers, and memberships that “wow” your clients (and probably yourself).
  • Building application funnels. Esther shares how to apply some copywriting magic for your funnel sales page while Nuno and Andy walk you through how to build the perfect funnel for coaching clients.
  • Advanced FG secrets. Andy and Nuno dish out secrets to help you manage your calendar, integrate your funnel into social media, and snatch leads the easy way.
  • Bonus. Short and sweet bonus section covering how to use AI to write copy.

I found their delivery of the materials pretty easy to follow and understand. I also appreciated that there was more than one instructor, giving me different perspectives on the course material.

#2.) VA Starter Pack

Now that you’ve learned the skills to pay the bills, the VA starter pack shows you how to successfully land clients and get paid.

Practicality is the name of the game here — from crafting the perfect resume to customizing client contract templates. This section is for the VAs ready to start kicking butt.

screenshot of va starter pack
VA Starter Pack has the same lesson structure, but focuses on the business side of things.

Like the main course, the VA starter pack is mostly video lessons with an added “homework and downloads” section designed to make sure you’re not flying through the videos without taking action.

Here’s a list of the covered topics:

  • How to create a slick application kit and resume.
  • How to land clients using Instagram.
  • Top networking strategies both online and IRL.
  • Overcoming imposter syndrome.
  • How to crush consultation calls.
  • Handling taxes, healthcare, and bookkeeping.
  • Best ways to get paid.
  • Setting your prices.
  • Writing proposals and contracts.

#3.) VAI Members Club

The VAI Members Club is brimming with juicy content.

There are loads of lessons covering a wide variety of topics like how to land amazing testimonials, when and how to raise your rates, how to monetize podcasts, and tons more.

But the real gold lies in the exclusive job opportunities and the active FB communities.

For 12 months, you get access to an exclusive job board with new VA tech jobs.

These types of job boards are especially useful for VAs struggling to find legit opportunities. There’s also way less competition than on websites like Upwork, which is massive.

The team also sends out a weekly member’s-only newsletter called The Weekly Hustle that keeps you in the loop on the latest job postings, upcoming live events, industry updates, and new courses.

This is a huge plus because with the speed tech is evolving (looking at you, ChatGPT), you don’t want to be left behind.

Community support is always a winner when navigating new opportunities.

When I looked through the different job opportunities, I did find them to be more legit and with better pay than on some of the other job sites like Upwork or Fiverr.

As a TVAD student, you get access to both the exclusive Tech VA Club AND VAI Members Club FB groups.

I also thought it is a lot more organized than any of the public Facebook groups I’ve had to hunt through in the past.

These aren’t noisy FB groups with randos spamming nonsense. Instead, you get highly active groups eager to answer your questions and dish out loads of support and encouragement.

That said, it’s also not a bunch of empty positive affirmations either.

These FB groups are where you find your accountability partner, get real feedback on your portfolio, and have your assignments reviewed so you can keep improving and moving forward when you encounter roadblocks.

The Tech VA Club is a brand-spanking new group at the time of writing. It’s smaller and more exclusive than the VAI Member’s Club, but still mighty and lively.

screenshot of post in tech va club facebook group
It’s not hard to find happy students in these groups.

In this group, you can hop on a zoom call with Andy and Nuno during “office hours” to have those tech questions tripping you up answered.

It’s just like office hours back in college. Most students don’t take advantage of it. But the ones that do get HUGE value. Normal consults with these guys would cost you a fortune, so don’t play hooky.

screenshot of a post in VAI members club facebook group
Sometimes you might just need an extra push to remind you of your value.

The VAI Members Club also has weekly Q&A calls designed to get you unstuck and moving again.

These weekly calls are always recorded and added to the community resource section of the course, so you can revisit them anytime.

I found a lot of value in these weekly calls because it gave me a chance to ask questions that were to specific to what I was struggling with.

You likely aren’t the first person who’s struggled with whatever you’re struggling with. So, by digging through the Q&A call archives, you can find loads of gold nuggets and insider advice.

Tech VA in a Day pros ✅

✅ Super easy to follow. Andy and Nuno demonstrate step-by-step exactly how to create funnels. Every technical process is demonstrated on-screen making it easy to follow along. No need to feel intimidated, even if you’re a total beginner.

✅ Unquestionable expertise. Considering that Andy and Nuno are the actual developers behind FG funnel, you’re learning from the best of the best.

✅ Solid course material. The course is chock full of templates, examples, and clear action steps so you’re never lost in theoryland.

✅ Tons of job resources. Between the exclusive job board, The Weekly Hustle, and group connections, you can kiss your worries about finishing the program and not finding work goodbye.

✅ Frequent updates. Tech is always changing and with regular content updates, you’ll always be in-the-know and don’t have to worry about getting left behind.

✅ Unreal support. Not one but two active Facebook groups AND weekly Q&As with the course creators. Expert guidance and support are always available from people who have been-there-done-that, so you won’t ever be stuck for long.

✅ Fair guarantee. If you find the course isn’t right for you, you can request a refund within 14 days as long as you show that you tried. This is kind of a tight window, but it’s better than some VA courses that don’t offer any refunds whatsoever. Just make sure you have time in your schedule to actually test things out during those first 14 days.

Tech VA in a Day cons ❌

❌ The course is only open for enrollment twice a year. So if it’s closed when you’re reading this, you’ll have to wait. That said, this keeps the group tight-knit and allows Esther and the gang to give each student more attention.

❌ The interface can be a bit wonky at times.

❌ While the audio was always clear, we sometimes had to adjust the volume depending on who was speaking in the video lessons.

Tech VA in a Day vs. 90 Day VA: Which is better?

The course that’s best suited for you depends on your end goals.

90 Day VA is a great route to go if you’re looking to become a jack-of-all-trades VA. It focused a lot on “content re-purposing” skills like copywriting, video and podcast editing, and social media management.

Tech VA in a Day is more specialized and focuses on high-demand tech skills like setting up pipelines or creating membership programs for clients.

Both courses have their advantages.

Tech VAs have the expertise to keep businesses running. Their job involves essential business operations, which makes the skill more recession-proof. They can also charge more for their high-value services.

Generalist VAs on the other hand can “wow” clients because of their vast array of marketable skills. They can pivot into different types of client work without breaking a sweat. This is a helpful option if you’re not certain where you want to specialize, allowing you to dip your toes in different pools to test the waters.

That said, if a company has to downsize, they’re more likely to let go of its social media VA than its tech VA (who manages the backbone of the business).

I know for myself when I have a lul in my business, I’ve always kept on the person who knows tech better than me. I’m not saying that content isn’t important in business, but fewer people are great at tech, which makes it a rarer skill and harder to replace.

Deciding which course is better for you comes down to what type of VA you’d like to be.

For the well-rounded trusty generalist VA, 90 Day VA is the way to go.

For the specialized tech-wizard VA, Tech VA in a Day is the course for you.

For even more info, you can check out our full nitty-gritty review of 90 Day VA.

TL;DR: Is Tech VA in a Day worth it?

Becoming a Tech VA in a single 24-hour day is not meant to be taken literally — but that doesn’t mean this course is a bust.

In fact, this course has everything you need to level up into a hardcore tech VA.

You won’t have to write code, but you will have to learn technical processes that make you valuable AF to businesses.

I personally found that this course is extremely valuable to those who are already in the VA business and want to set themselves apart. I’ve reviewed dozens of VA courses and after a while, they all start to teach you similar things. What I found different with this course, is that it offers tools and actionable lessons to get skills that are always going to be needed in the online market. For that reason alone, I think it’s worth every penny.

The course throws a lot at you and it will feel like you’re drinking from a firehose sometimes.

But if you stick with the course and put in the work, you’ll become a BA tech VA and have an impressive portfolio to back it up.

Tech VA in a Day is for you if:

  • You’re an existing VA ready to specialize in running client websites and building funnels.
  • You’re totally new to the tech and VA world and looking to learn concrete skills in high demand.
  • Willing to be patient with the process and put in the work.

Tech VA in a Day is NOT for you if:

  • You shudder at the idea of anything remotely technical.
  • You’re not up for the big (but high-paying) tasks that business owners have no idea how to do.
  • You’re not ready to get your hands dirty as soon as you start the course.
