Looking for a 90 Day VA review from someone who has actually gone through the course?
Well, look no further.
I just blasted through Esther Inman’s 90 Day VA course (which is ginormous, btw), and in this review, I give it to you straight.
We’ll look at:
#1.) A super-secret peek inside the program to see what it’s like.
#2.) My brutally honest opinion of the course.
#3.) Who it’s for, and who should skip it.
The decision to invest in a training program can be nerve-wracking. I’ve been there.
Nobody wants to make the wrong decision, and I hope that this little research project of mine helps you choose the right path.
Alrighty, let’s jump in!
Psst! If you’re still unsure after watching me pick apart the course, check out this free VA training by Esther to test out the waters. Even if you decide not to skip the full program, this info will help you start.

TL;DR – Is 90 Day VA worth it?
After taking the course, I believe the 90 Day VA program teaches you everything you need to know to launch your virtual assistant business in 90 days or less. Most students seem happy with their purchase.
But do you need 90 Day VA to become a VA? Not at all.
Most people who have actually taken the course (myself included) believe that it’s a worthwhile investment. But it’s by no means a requirement.
If your bank account is in the red, there’s nothing wrong with spending extra time puzzle-piecing together a plan from random Youtube videos, learning by trial and error.
Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
But if you can afford it — which she makes easier with her payment plan — go for it.
If you’re a beginner (or not earning as much as you’d like), it’ll help you get up and running ASAP.
And the faster you land your first gigs, the faster you recoup your costs.
It also boosts your confidence. When you’re finished, you won’t feel like a fraud who has to “fake it ‘til you make it”. You’ll be a professional. And you’ll know exactly how much you’re worth.
That said, before deciding, check out my sneak peek video below to get a clearer idea of what the program is actually like.

Alrighty then! On to the nitty-gritties!
Inside look at Esther Inman’s 90 Day VA course
Alrighty, now for a behind-the-scenes look at the course itself…
I’ve sprinkled screenshots throughout this guide to give you an inside look at the course. But for an even better idea of what to expect, check out this video review.
Disclaimer: I received access to 90 Day VA in exchange for an honest review. As you will clearly see, all opinions are my own.
What’s included in the course
If you skipped the video above, here’s a recap of everything that’s included in the Ignite program.
There is a LOT of content, so I’ve broken everything down into two main parts:
- The 90 Day VA course
- The VA Members Club
In this section, I’ll give an objective overview of everything, trying to keep my opinions out of it. Later in the review, I’ll share my likes and dislikes.
Quick note: This course clearly targets WOMEN. Men, you may feel a little out of place. That said, if you’re a man and don’t mind cutesy pastel colors, bucketloads of emojis, and being called “girlie”, then this course can help you become a VA too.
For a slightly more gender-neutral VA training program, check out my Savvy System review.
#1.) The 90 Day VA main course
The 90 Day VA training program has 27 lessons (and counting), broken down into 5 modules.
The content is structured as a step-by-step process — taking you from the ground up.
It focuses on using skills you already have (or that are easy to learn) to land your first clients.
After helping you uncover which skill you should offer, it dives into the business side of things, like:
- How to create an application kit and remote resume (with handy templates)
- Where to find the right clients
- Writing proposals and contracts
- Onboarding clients
- Setting your prices
- The best ways to receive payments
- Handling bookkeeping, taxes, insurance, etc.
Basically, it covers how to handle clients from start to finish.
This helps with imposter syndrome or if you’re feeling unprepared. When you see the whole process laid out, you don’t have to worry about getting caught off guard by something you weren’t expecting.
Also, sometimes you just don’t know what you don’t know. And if you don’t know you’re not using proper etiquette, you might be scaring off clients without even realizing it.
Each lesson has a video — ranging from 10 minutes to over an hour — and a homework and resources section.
The videos are a mixture of Esther talking on camera, slideshow presentations, and screenshare instructional videos showing how to do specific tasks on the computer.
Some of the lessons come with PDF downloads and templates where you can fill in notes. These are handy because some videos are quite long (and many don’t have summaries) so you’ll wanna jot down notes as you go.
You can type directly into the PDFs, which is nice. But when you handwrite things, they’re more likely to stick in your mind.
#2.) The VA Members Club
The VA Members Club includes loads of goodies.
One of the most valuable is the 60+ member’s-only job opportunities they send out every month.
This is especially useful for those who are stuck trying to find legit opportunities. I bet many noobie VAs find their first clients here, which are typically the hardest to land.
When I was searching for my own VA, I even posted my job there!
The Club also comes with access to their super active Facebook group, which is great for finding accountability partners to review your portfolio and asking any questions you run into.
If you need more personalized help or accountability, they also have 2 live Q&A calls per month.
Finally, one of my favorite parts — and something that separates 90 Day VA from many other courses — is that they release new monthly members trainings each month (sometimes two per month).
These are basically mini-courses by different experts on various VA-related topics, like new ways to find clients, updated strategies in the ever-changing social media world, and advanced skills trainings you can use to up your income.
Here are a few examples of the monthly membership trainings. They tend to be about an hour-ish each.
Keep in mind, that the course comes with one month of access to these club benefits. If you’d like to continue after the first month, you’ll have to pay a monthly subscription.
That said, if you squeeze the value out of that first month, you may not need it any longer. By then, your business could potentially be a well-oiled machine (depending on how much time you can dedicate to it).
That said, if you want extended hand-holding, you take advantage of the live calls, and you want more job opportunities delivered to you — then it’s not a bad idea to continue the membership a bit longer.
Right now they’ve got some cool things cookin’ in the VAI Membership (like how to boost your VA career using AI), so make sure to check that out even if you don’t end up getting 90 Day VA.
What 90 Day VA is NOT
Purchasing 90 Day VA and consuming all the course material will not magically make you a VA.
The key is in the HOMEWORK.
And the homework takes time and hard work.
But it’s not all in vain.
As you do the homework assignments, you are creating an entire portfolio to show potential clients.
And by the time you finish the course, you’ll no longer be plagued with the “how do I get hired with no experience?” conundrum.
The course gives you real-life experience — exactly what clients want to see before hiring you.
So, 90 Day VA is by no means a magic pill.
Just like starting any new business, to become a VA, you need to be willing to hustle.
90 Day VA Review: Pros and Cons
My 90 Day VA Complaints
Here’s what I thought was kinda meh about the course.
❌ Lacks summaries. Some of the videos are hella long, and if you don’t take notes, it sucks having to rewatch everything to find what you’re looking for. Downloadable slides would help, but not everything she says is in the slides. It would be even more helpful if she included a text summary that reviews the most important points (or, at the very least, includes timestamps).
❌ Updates. Let me start by saying 99% of the content seemed on point and up to date to me. And she even sends out monthly emails that include new updates to the course. But there was one video in particular that seemed like it could use a revamp — which was the “how to receive payments” video. There were a couple statements in there that I don’t think are quite accurate, but nothing life-or-death.
❌ I miss her face. Ok, not trying to be weird here or anything. But, while her slideshows are gorgeous, I feel like I zone out if I can’t see who is talking. Maybe that’s just me. But seeing her face as she presents the info would make the videos more engaging.
As you can see, I’m getting kind of nit-picking here. None of these things will affect your ability to become a VA. But they are ways the course could be improved.
What I DID like
✅ Fixes “no experience” problem. You build a real portfolio as you go through the course. So when potential clients ask to see it, you can knock their socks off.
✅ Focuses on “ASAP” skills. Other VA courses make the mistake of trying to teach you an advanced new skill to offer clients. The problem with this strategy is it takes a long time before you actually start earning money. Because of this, 90 Day VA focuses on skills you have or can learn fast to start earning ASAP. Then, once you have your VA biz set up and cash rolling in, you have the option to learn more advanced skills by joining the VA Skills School.
✅ New monthly videos. Since she is constantly releasing new trainings, you always have access to up-to-date content that is working today. This is especially important with rapidly changing strategies on social media. Not all virtual assistant courses are updated this often, so this is a big plus.
✅ Over-the-shoulder videos. This isn’t just theoretical knowledge. In addition to slideshows, she also has many screenshare videos that show you step-by-step how to do the services you will be offering your clients.
✅ Fair guarantee. You can test the course out for 14 days and get a full refund if you decide it’s not right for you. The catch is you have to show you TRIED. Which shouldn’t be a big deal, because why would you buy a course if you’re not going to try?
✅ Oozes energy. Esther is a bundle of positive vibes. Some courses are dry because the presenter is dry. Esther’s bubbly personality keeps things entertaining.
As I took the course, I was a bit surprised by how many paths and possibilities there are as a VA.
There is TONS of room for growth.
For example, one of the Member’s Club trainings was hosted by a VA who started as a general admin VA, moved into Instagram management, and then eventually shifted into becoming an Instagram coach and creating her own courses.
How cool is that?
When you niche down as a VA, you eventually become an expert. And if you want, you can use that expertise to one day create a whole separate business.
So, if you’re thinking you’ll be stuck doing boring data entry or inbox management for the rest of your life, think again.
The possibilities are endless.
But is it really right for you?
This course is NOT right for everyone. Plain and simple.
It is not for you if…
- You don’t have a decent grasp of English (you don’t have to be fluent though).
- You aren’t willing to dedicate 5 hours a week for the next 90 days.
- You expect to magically become a top-paid VA overnight.
On the other hand, if you are willing to follow every step of the course to a T — even if it stretches your abilities and makes you slightly uncomfortable — then it will almost certainly help you become a higher-paid VA, faster.
Overall, you get out what you put in. And if you go all-in with 90 Day VA, you won’t be disappointed.
If you’re still on the fence on whether becoming a VA is the right path for you, I recommend dipping your toes in the water with this free VA masterclass.
This will give you some gold nuggets and point you in the right direction. From there, you’ll be better equipped to decide on your next steps.
90 Day VA success stories
Whenever I’m skeptical about enrolling in a new course, it always helps when the seller has case studies showcasing successful students.
Fortunately, there are TONS of 90 Day VA success stories. The Facebook Group is jam-packed with posts like these:
There are literally HUNDREDS of these #firstclientclub posts.
If all these people can do it, so can you.
That said, it’s important to note that a common phrase in these success posts is “I put in the work”.
This is what differentiates successful students.

90 Day VA alternatives
90 Day VA is a top-rated course that will help you launch your virtual assistant business, but it’s not the only course in town.
I created a detailed list of all the best virtual assistant courses.
But here’s a quick summary of other popular options:
👉 Savvy System. Most comprehensive and most expensive, neutral vibes. This course is more expensive than 90 Day VA, but if you have the budget, it’s basically the gold standard and is constantly updating. (Read full Savvy System review).
👉 Fully Booked VA. Mid-range budget, includes specialization trainings. Unlike 90 Day VA, this course focuses more on niching down your VA business. If you don’t want to be a generalist, this course might be a better option than 90 Day VA. (Read full Fully Booked VA review).
👉 Virtual Excellence Academy. Mid-range budget, diversity/inclusive vibes. Virtual Excellence Academy differentiates itself from its competitors, including 90 Day VA, by focusing on inclusion and making every type of person feel welcome, not just girly girls.. Before diving into any one course, you may want to take the “free intro courses” tied to each program. You can find these free courses using the links above.
That way, you can get a feel for the different teaching styles and overall energy of each program (because they are VERY different).
I’ve gone through every single one of these courses, and they are all top-notch. So I recommend choosing whichever one best fits your budget and vibe.
Mitch is your typical nomadic backpacker. Or at least, he was. But after stopping in Colombia to take “one week” of salsa lessons, his life took a sharp left turn. He met a cute Colombian girl in dance class, fell in love, and got married. Over half a decade has passed since he left his career to travel the world as a digital nomad, and he’s never looked back.
